Boston Tea Party – Historical Remix

The Boston Tea Party, which occurred in 1773, was a protest by the American colonists against the newly formed Tea Tax by King George III. This event was one of the major events to push the colonists over the edge to revolting against the monarchy. While news of this event certainly spread like wildfire, it would be interesting to see how an event like this would spread with today’s access to social media, such as on twitter.

Let’s make a thought experiment of it:

As you can see, the Boston Tea Party was quite a momentous event for all those involved at the time, even without social media. However by having access to social media today, this kind of event would be widely broadcasted in a fraction of the time. Therefore drawing more attention to itself and ultimately having more of an affect on the American people.
